Thread: GMR cams???

    GMR cams???

    What do they mean by the vacuum pump/cam sensor will not work if you install these? Do they mean they wont work at all or you have to upgrade something for them? I need some cams and wasnt sure what they meant by this..

    A few people have ran these, and for some odd reason most of them have changed or went back to stock. Tom says cams dont do much for our cars...but i donno.

    If you're talking about the one that I'm thinking of it says that foot note is for the 2.0L correct?

    Ecotec Camshaft, Performance Set 88958648 - Crate Engine Depot
    one of the posts in css.net compares 3 cams: gmr, 272 and stock, and the gmr cams gained him around 10 hp. i dont know what mods he had or tune...

    i think that was area47, and from what i have heard..hes pretty badass tuner.

    What that means is because of the grind on the cam the cps will not work because the new cam changes the timing compared to cam position that the valves open. The cps is nothing more then two magnets one on the cam, one on the head itself and as the cam spins and the magnets pass each other it sends a signal to the ecu telling the position of the cams. So with a cam change it doesn't work.

    Ok, so what will that effect not working?
    Or is that were you get the diffrent idle at?
