    Stock DP blew...need a new one :)

So I have had this odd sound coming from the engine bay for the past month or so and has been slowly getting worse. Had the local dealership look at it real quick while it was in getting the fuel pump recall done. The dumbass at the dealership said it was in the "powertrain," yeah thanks for pin pointing it for me! haha, anyways, myself and father in law thought it was an exhaust leak so I got some new gaskets to put in (had a muffler swap done and thought the flange gasket after the dp was bad from when they pulled it down). After I replaced the SC gasket, I jacked it up, started it and got under her. After I got under her I knew where my leak was. The damn flex tube of the dp is shot to hell. Sooo, I need a new dp and figured that for a lil more money I can just complete my exhaust system. I am NOT going with zzp's dp because I haven't heard all too good of things about them (and Kevin's cat blew out within 8 months of having his). I am either going to go with the Vibrant combo for $660 off of cobalt-addiction or the XTC dp and either the GMPP or the CA header for $580(xtc & GMPP) or $530(xtc & CA). I was wondering what everyone's opinions were on these set ups or if you had another that was in this price range...Thanks for any input that you give!!!

    Set ups:
    Vibrant combo- $660
XTC dp and GMPP header- $580
XTC dp and CA header- $530

I've got the gmpp and it looks just like the regular one. Couldn't really notice any gains, but then again my butt dyno is kinda old.

All I can say about the CA header is that it will look better than the GMPP.

I have the vibrant setup, header/downpipe, and i love it, best investment thus far...the quality is fantastic and i have had mine on for about a year now and still looks new, install was a breeze...coupled with the corsa catback it sounds great IMO.

yeah I have been leaning towards the Vibrant ever since I got my SS lol, but for 80-130 bucks less I can get the others and money is kinda tight. Has anyone heard anything about the XTC dp?

Well made my decision...going with the Vibrant combo from neverenoughauto.com. Decided against CA becuase I read a few different threads on YC and CSS about them and how slow they are with shipping (with the admit to on their site lmao) and bad communication. You cant even TALK to a LIVE rep, you have to email them! lmao...so I went onto neverenoughauto and called them and TALKED to a real PERSON!!! Talked with the rep and said he has them in stock and ready to ship so Im gonna buy mine as soon as my check goes in my account tonight, call the rep tomorrow morning and they'll have it shipped out tomorrow!! Wow, amazing what a REAL person can do for a company! CA just lost a $660 sale...too bad lmao...

i would consider telling your chevy dealer they have to pay for it? Reason they had a recall on the cats is because they get clogged and GUESS WHAT back pressure happens good thing your flex pipe blew and not your engine lemme guess your boost was reading 5+ boost for a while

also if they dont want to check classifieds of all the sites for cobalts stocker is about 50-70 shipped and just put it in tell you can save up also be on the look out for ottp long tube header its a header thats 4-2-1 which would be the first one for these cars and is going to be about the same price as viberant maybe less and it dynoed 7-10 whp over it and most of that is lowend which is what these cars need bad.

O.K. I have the Vibrant Header/down pipe combo, I'm N/A (no Forced induction) but I'll still race ya,LOL that's how good it is.
P.S. CobaltAdditction.com made me wait 2 months no lie for my stuff and they did some mickey mouse work for the S.A.I. so just get it else were or who knows maybe you'll have better luck.
I also got me the "Corsa Touring Cat Back" I'm very, very, very, Happy just thought I rub it in LOL. just kidding GOOD LUCK with everything hoped this helped.

decided against zzp because of issue i have heard with their cats. Kevin (Kevinssssc) had his blow out in 8 months. have also heard that the weld job isnt very good. as far as the dealer covering it, i did get a letter from them saying that they were having that issue BUUUT it was only a service bulliten (TSB) NOT a recall so i would of had to pay for labor and part(s) just like i did when my chain tensioner went out (which was another TSB).

yeah it took CA just about a month to get me my NGK BKR7E plugs. Read a few threads on CSS and YC about CA and decided against them, thats why i went with neverenoughauto. yeah i love the sound of the corsa system, a lil too pricey as of now, plus all i needed was a muffler swap cuz the SS comes with 2.5" tubing except in the resginator which is 2.25". Should have went with the magnaflow muffler tho, the flowmaster has a high pitch tone at high rpms but doesnt bother me too much and ppl seem to like how my car sounds.

for those of you that dont like reading the previous posts, I got the vibrant 4-2-1 combo from neverenoughauto.com for 669.00 shipped. Got it in THREE days, ordered/shipped monday and recieved it wed. Recommend them to EVERYONE. the system is of A+++ quality, sound and performance. installed it same day (week and a half ago) which was easy and took the 1 1/2 hrs that they said, but took a good 2 1/2 to take off the stock crap lol.
