    New rear deck

After my recent purchase of my Kenwood DDX512 I decided it was probably a good time to install my aftermarket Audio Pipe speakers I had purchased earlier in the season. I had already installed the front ones but held off on the rear ones due to the amount of work required. Last night I got ambitious and decided to just go ahead and install them. However none of the inside speakers are amped yet. While I had everything torn apart I decided I might as well at least recover the deck lid with the black suede I used on the door inserts. I was going to paint some of the panels as well but decided it was too much work for one night and decided to put it off for a later time. Anyways here are some images of the new covered deck and the new speakers.

The speaker wiring looks like shit right now but thats because I had spliced them to run a line converter for the rear subs off of the factory head unit. I plan on redoing all of this wiring and amplifying the speakers. Right now the kenwood is pushing about 22W R.M.S or 50W max to each speaker. The fronts I have installed are rated an R.M.S of 125W each and the rears 250W. They sound great right now, I can only imagine how much better they will sound once they are amped.

Thanks and yes your removal of the rear deck tutorial came in handy especially for those bastard clips in the back of the deck.

I know those things were such a bastard to find and release.

This is one of my favorite CHEAP mods. Mine only end up costing me like $25 and looks amazing!

yea i think the fabric when i got it cost around that and was enough to cover the door inserts and rear deck. I love it.

It looks good, I would have to get a new rear deck to do this though because I cut holes in mine to surface mount the 6x9`s, going to have to put this on my to do list! Nice job!

yea its a pain in the ass to remove it. That's why while i was going to take it out to replace the speaker i decided i might as well recover it too.

I was going to surface mount them but the housing for the new speakers I got were too big to fit from the top that I had no choice but to mount them from the bottom. However it does have its benefit that if one ever goes out again I dont have to take everything out again to remove the rear deck to remove them I can just get to it from the trunk
