    Inside Rear View Mirror Swap

Have any of you LT owners pulled your headliner down for any reason. Courious if there is wireing for the lighted/compass type mirror tucked up under the headliner. I want to get rid of my stock mirror and replace it with the powered version.
I'm almost positive its there as most other cars I've had were pre-wired for factory accessories.

I have an LS and there are no wires. I doubt there'll be wires on the LT that didn't have a built in compass either but ya never know...
    Was that even an option?

I really don't know if the auto-dimming / compass was an option on any of the Cobalts. The auto-dimming / compass features are available on a lot of GM mirrors. I guess the proper question is , is there any wireing at all tucked up there. I believe the LS and SS have map lights on the mirrors, the LT dosen't. All thats require would be the wire that feeds the map lights.

Yeah, any of the GM mirrors should adapt as long as there's a power source. In most cars the wireing harness has the connectors even if there not used. Just trying to verify this on the Cobalt before I go to salvage yard. There should be a wire and connector for the lighted mirrors even if there not installed at the factory.

The powered mirror I "believe" only comes with the Sunroof and the wiring is part of the sunroof harness.

The auto dimming mirror is an option with OnStar only. Unless you have onstar, you have to manually move the mirror to remove blinding headlights
