Hockey is like hot women and beer to us. You get it all fast action, scoring, and fights.
Just got some great news. Steve from the body shop just called and told me to come down to the shop. He is bringing in 4 guys this weekend to tag team my car and get her done hopefully this weekend. I am going there tonight to take some pics of what she looks like and to pick up the windows. He pulled the windows so that I can tint them easily. I will post pics tonight if I can.
He was busy tonight and was not able to get the windows out yet for me. The car looks pretty much the same as it did the last time i saw it. I asked what the game plan was for tomorrow. He said he was coming in early and was going to fit the kit to the car. He then planned on painting the lower half of the car first. He didnt say anything else about the rest of it. I doubt that he will be able to get it all done this weekend. He will still need to paint the top half, wet sand and buff the hood, two tone the jams, and finally pin stripe it. I would be surprised if it gets 1/2 done tomorrow. He said he would give me a call when he gets the windows out for me to come get them and check the progress.
come on i want to see my creation. lol i mean yours
I know its been awhile sense my last update on this but here is an update for everyone. My body guy called me up on Thursday to have me go look at the progress. He had gotten the front bumper completely mounted and was working on getting the rear one on as well. Filler needs to be added on almost every corner to make everything match up and the headlight cutouts both need to be modified slightly so that the gaps are correct.Forgot to mention the sides. As far as I could tell there was no issues with the skirts but these had been fitted to a cobalt previously so that may be why. I know the passenger side had to be extended an inch or so by the previous owner.
The real fun starts on the rear end. He showed me how much force it took to try and get the bumper to line up properly (forcing it to stretch with all of his might). He said that he should be able to make some relief cuts in it to make it easier. Both corners need to built up to match just like the front. On both pieces the passenger side was far worse than the drivers. Its becoming apparent that the passenger side is the pain in the ass side lol. He called me today to let me know he has decided that the relief cuts are not going to work on the rear. Instead he is going to have to cut the bumper in half and add about an inch of glass to get it to fit.
We concluded by discussing price and a time frame. He threw some numbers at me and told me it wouldn't be more than $1200. I then asked if that took into consideration the $950 that he got for replacing the hood which he only has to sand and buff. He was like nope, forgot about that. He needs money for his house payment so we agreed that I would give him $800 tomorrow and discuss the remainder later on. He said he hopes to be done by the end of the month
wow dude, this looks like it could either end up a horror story, or a close call...
gl w/ it, and post pics when you can!

still not done its almost spring. lol pics pics
ph has your friend installed those seats yet?
No Matt he has not done anything with the seats yet. His car is also at he shop and has yet to be touched yet. His will not be started until after mine is done. Steve has been extremely busy and at the time we told him to take his time and just do them whenever. It may be awhile before he gets his car done but mine should be done by the end of the month
Stopped by the shop today and Steve had the rear bumper already split and reglassed. Everything in the middle of the bumper was added. Also once cut apart noticed there is hardly any glass in the bumper at all. The majority of it is just gel coat. He said he may add more glass on the inside of the entire kit to strengthen it a bit. Here is a pic of the way the back end sits now. Before I left he was working on getting the headlights to fit properly. Will keep everyone posted.
